Compassion Connect Main Office Internship Opportunities

Compassion Connect

12135 SE Lincoln Street, Portland, OR 97216 USA   MAP

Compassion Connect is a Portland-based nonprofit whose mission is to combat division and apathy by uniting churches around what they have in common in order to serve and love their neighbors. We provide tangible opportunities for people to put their faith in practice, use their gifts, and make a difference through service. Two main areas that we help churches and individuals unite to serve their neighbors are community health and human trafficking. We accept internship on a rolling basis and can serve as an official site for college internship credit, so we invite you to explore your options with us at https://compassionconnect.com//volunteer#internships!

“Interning with Compassion Connect is such a special experience. From day one you are a part of not just a team but part of a family working together towards the mission of uniting the church to serve! Through my internship I was able to dive into research, grow in new skills, and build relationships with girls at the Design Studio [one of Compassion Connect’s anti-trafficking programs]. Through my internship, the Design Studio was able to pilot a youth entrepreneurship and job skills program over the next year, and the experiences and skills that I gained through my internship have helped launch me into my career!” -Dana Pair, former intern

Main Office Internships
Communications- You have creative communications skills that you want to put to good use and are interested in making a real difference in your community, in the Church, and in individual lives. Our Communications Internship is geared toward an individual with a variety of creative communications talents or interests such as storytelling/writing, graphic design, marketing/media, website design, photography, videography, etc who would like to utilize and build these gifts in a faith based non-profit setting. You will be encouraged and challenged to refine messaging skills to their most effective, most powerful form as you help us tell stories of unity and compassion to the world.

Grant Writing/Development- If you are interested in developing your marketing, public relations, and organizational skills as they relate to non-profit resource development (i.e. fundraising), then here's a great opportunity for you! We are seeking a development intern who is interested in all facets of non-profit resource development and is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and dive in. Areas this internship may address are donor database management, donor stewardship, strategically segmented campaigns and appeals, online giving, grant writing, and special events. Experience in these areas is not required to apply.

“Compassion Connect friends, I feel incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to work with and learn from each of you. I felt so included and taken care of here. I hope more interns get to experience your kindness in the future. I pray that this place, and your work, will be forever protected by the Father and be blessed and multiply. He is glorified by the things done in this place. I hope to work with each of you again sometime in the future.”
