Job Description

POSITION: Full-time Executive Pastor
RESPONSIBLE TO: Directly - Teaching Pastor

JOB/MINISTRY FOCUS: The Executive Pastor shall provide shepherding oversight and support for the stated primary areas of responsibility. The focus of this position is to provide Administrative oversight and Ministry support. The Executive Pastor will oversee the operations and finances of the church, while also providing leadership and support for the church staff and ministry leaders.

PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
A. FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT
1. Oversight of Accounting staff
2. Planning and facilitation of Finance Committee
meetings
3. Oversight of budgetary and equity expenditures; end-
of-year accounting; creation of new annual budget;
reports for elders; men’s retreat accounting
4. Oversight of staff policies

B. BUILDING AND GROUNDS MAINTENANCE
1. Oversight of building and grounds upkeep and
maintenance
2. Oversight of vehicle upkeep and maintenance
3. Oversight and coordination of groups who use the
building

C. STAFF OVERSIGHT
1. Administrative Secretary, Student Pastor, Worship
Pastor, Children’s Ministry Director
2. RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide Shepherding Oversight to these areas through
ongoing evaluation, regular meetings, and consistent
interaction, providing direction, encouragement, and
insight into planning and goal setting.
• Motivate and hold accountable for job responsibilities
as well as personal spiritual development.

D. MINISTRY OVERSIGHT
1. Serve as a member of the Pastoral Staff Team
2. RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate with Pastoral Staff team for planning and
development of the ongoing ministry of the church.
• Provide oversight and support for daily operations of
church ministry
• Organize and lead monthly staff meetings
• Organize annual training and development for ministry
leaders in partnership with MPC Elders
• Provide oversight and support of ministry volunteers

E. ASSIMILATION
1. RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop systems and teams to welcome visitors
• Develop Systems and Teams help visitors integrate
into the life and ministry of the church as a faithfully
serving member.
• Organize periodic Membership Matters Class and
provide follow up based on survey results.

F. DELEGATION OF COUNSELING NEEDS
1. RESPONSIBILITIES
• Equip, encourage, and shepherd those within the body
who are engaged in counseling situations.
• Assist in directing counseling needs to most
appropriate area for the need to be addressed (i.e.
small group, elder, staff member, or professional
counselor)

G. PULPIT TEACHING SUPPORT
1. RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in the pulpit ministry in partnership with the
Teaching Pastor as needed
