POSITION OVERVIEW

As the primary shepherd of the College Ministry, the College Director will work closely with the Pastor to Young Adults to plan and lead ministry efforts and events for college students and college-aged young adults living in and attending schools near PBC. The College Director will oversee the spiritual care of our students, lead outreach efforts at local colleges and universities, and serve as the co-director for the Summer Leadership Institute (SLI). The College Director will report directly to the Pastor to Young Adults.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategic Responsibilities
- Prayerfully shape the vision of the College Ministry and execute on that vision

- Develop a ministry strategy for the 2020-2021 academic year, knowing that we will be caring both for students who are local and students who have not yet returned to their Bay Area campuses

- Help plan and lead Sunday morning College Breakfast (when we resume meeting in person) and other college events (both virtual and in-person)

- Serve as Co-Director for the Summer Leadership Institute (SLI), alongside the Pastor to Young Adults

- Develop an outreach strategy for engaging students at local colleges and universities

2. Relational Responsibilities
- Attend all College Ministry events and programs in order to engage and build relationships with students

- Meet with students one-on-one or in small groups

- Build and maintain strong relationships with Christian fellowships at Santa Clara University (Core Christian Fellowship) and Stanford University (esp. Intervarsity Christian Fellowship)

- Recruit adult leaders from PBC to serve in the college ministry

3. Administrative Responsibilities
- Manage communication and maintain social media channels for College Ministry

- Coordinate rides for students to PBC worship services, college ministry events, and other ministry activities

- Coordinate logistics for the Sunday morning College Breakfast, including room reservations, recruiting and scheduling volunteers to bring food, etc.

- Provide logistical support for other events, including room reservations, ordering food, promotion, etc.

4. Other Responsibilities
- Meet weekly with Pastor to Young Adults

-Represent PBC at activities fairs (virtual or in-person) at local universities

QUALIFICATIONS
- Deep love for the Lord and growing, vibrant faith in him

- Passion for ministering to college students and helping them grow in faith

- Desire to teach God’s word and show its relevance for the contemporary challenges of life as a college student

- Strong organizational and administrative skills

- Strong ability to engage relationally with college students, lay leaders, and other ministry leaders

- Bachelor’s degree or similar

- Ability to occasionally lift 20 pounds for events and set up

- Ability to transport yourself to and across college campuses
