Title: Pastor of Worship & Discipleship
Position: Full-Time
Vision: A pastor, with a pastor’s heart and a passion for the Gospel, who is skilled in leading music and has a deep desire to see God’s people grow spiritually.
Summary: The Pastor of Worship & Discipleship will work in close coordination with the Senior Pastor in planning worship services that help the congregation see and savor the glory of God in Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit. He will be responsible for leading the worship team to play and sing the best doctrinally-sound old and new songs. Additionally, he will help shepherd the flock by preaching expository sermons at least quarterly, overseeing volunteers in Children’s and Student Ministries, and assisting the Senior Pastor as needed.
Relationships: He will be accountable to the Senior Pastor and to the Elder Board.
Requirements:
A. He must be a man who meets the qualifications of elder/shepherd as set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
B. He must love God deeply and be committed to prayer.
C. He must joyfully hold to the final authority of God’s Word without apology or compromise.
D. He must have a passion for evangelism and discipleship.
E. He must agree with and be able to teach and defend from the Scriptures, the Good Shepherd Statement of Faith.
F. He must model loving leadership as a husband and father.
G. He must humbly possess gifts in music, leadership, teaching, and organization.
H. He must be able to motivate, develop and lead volunteer teams effectively.
I. He must give full support to the Senior Pastor and his vision and philosophy of ministry, promoting a spirit of love and unity.
J. He must be committed to resolving conflict biblically and quickly.
K. He must desire to help lead and participate in church events, Bible studies, and other gatherings to grow personally and lead by example.
L. He must have an earned a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Bible College or a Master’s degree from an accredited seminary.
“And He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.”
