-PHILOSOPHY OF MINISTRY
1) According to scripture, parents are the primary disciplers of their children. The role of the director is to support and contribute to the calling of the parents to make disciples of their children (Deut. 6:6-7; Eph. 6:4).
2) Seek to teach the children a comprehensive view of the Bible and salvific history (Luke 24:27; 2 Tim. 3:16; Acts 20:27).
3) One of our roles as a Church is to minister to unbelievers who come to our ministries, and you will plan to share the gospel with them in a planned and prepared way.
4) Plan to minister to all of the different levels of spiritual development.
5) Organize groups of teachers and helpers so that you can use a variety of spiritual gifting.

-GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY
The Children’s Ministries Director provides leadership, recruiting and training for volunteers and paid staff for the following ministries:
1) Sunday School Classes
2) Children’s Church
3) Awana
4) Nursery
5) Junior Camp
6) VBS

-PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director is directly responsible to:
1) Create a vision/mission statement for children’s ministry.
2) Recruit staff for all children’s ministries.
3) Assure that all children’s ministry staff (volunteer or paid) are vetted, trained in their area of ministry, and are communicated with about their responsibilities on a regular basis.
4) Recruit and support staff for seasonal children’s events, such as Christmas programs, children’s choirs, VBS, Easter activities/programs (children’s outing and field trips, etc.).
5) Provide a welcoming and hospitable environment for both children and parents.
6) Order curriculum for children’s Sunday School and Children’s Church.
7) Maintain a comprehensive and gospel-centered scope and sequence for curriculum.
8) Maintain open communication with parents regarding Children’s Ministries procedures, events and plans.
9) Provide a channel of communication to the Elder of Children’s Ministries for all children’s ministry teams including.
10) Maintain all children’s classrooms.
11) Create and oversee check in/out system for nursery and Sunday School classes.
12) Provide sermon activity sheets.
13) Maintain Sunday School supply room/office, bulletin boards
14) Coordinate Bible Promotion for Promotion Sunday (before school starts in the fall)
15) Become an active member of the Church.

-STRENGTHS AND SKILLSET
1) A gifting in administration and organization.
2) A comfort with working with children’s helpers of all ages, parents and children.
3) A passion to establish relationships with congregates to recruit gifted believers to serve in Children’s Ministry.
4) A desire to delegate responsibilities and see volunteers live up to their own potential, rather than a need to do all the work yourself.
5) Experience in various areas of Children’s ministry (This is not a “must” but would be very helpful).

-Details of position
• 30-40 hours per week, with a flexible work location as well as flexible daily hours.
• For the day-to-day ministry you report to the Senior Pastor.
• For issues regarding direction of ministry, work schedule and status of employment you report to the Elder Board.
