Peace Lutheran Church (St Joseph, MI) Bi-Vocational Pastor
The Big Picture
Peace Lutheran Church (NALC)(peacelutheranstjoe.org) is a small Lutheran Church seeking a bi-vocational or part time Pastor.
Position: Part time Pastor with the possibility of going to full time.
Salary: $31,200.00-$40,000.00 Based on experience/ 20 hours per week
Housing Allowance: $1000.00 per month
Health Insurance Allowance: $500.00 per month
Requirements:
Must have an min Associates Degree in Divinity. Must be able to give sermons and convey the word of God. Must be able to uphold the Lutheran beliefs, counsel people if needed, and administer Holy Communion. Must have computer skills, and organization assets.
Duties:
Office hours Monday – Thursday 9:00-12:00, Friday and Saturdays off. Sermons on Sunday. One service only 10:15-11:15, would entail being there on Sundays approx. 2 hours. Maintain the church office and administrative duties. Pastor will have one secretary to handle the work load, and accountant for billing. To attend meetings of the church when required.
Other Information:
Church body is small with about 40 active members. Service is a bit blended with some contemporary music. We service our community at the Soup Kitchen, Red Cross Blood Drives, Dinner Club, Bingo, Flood Buckets and Lutheran Relief. The congregation primarily Caucasian, 50 years of age and older. The surrounding area is multi-ethnic with Spanish speaking migrants in the area. We are open to explore a more contemporary service, but the service current now is traditional. We are open to explore also other avenues and ideas our new pastor could bring. Last pastor transferred to become a pastor to two churches at the same time.
