The Big Picture
Castanea Community Church (https://www.facebook.com/p/Castanea-Community-Church-100076925192959/) is seeking a bi-vocational Pastor.
The Overview
Castanea Community Church is prayerfully seeking a Bi-vocational Pastor who will patiently and enthusiastically lead our congregation to become active leaders and worshippers. We are entrusting God to bring us a pastor of His choice to guide us in a new and positive direction within our congregation and in the community.
Additionally, we are seeking a pastor who will:
• Be an effective preacher, teacher and speaker of God’s word to believers and non-believers.
• A person of God with integrity and well-grounded in the faith who ministers to both the young and old and prays with them.
• Make pastoral calls to those in hospitals, nursing homes or confined to their homes (shut-ins), as well as a willingness to make routine visits to members of the congregation when appropriate.
• Ministers effectively to persons in crisis situations.
• Work to bring new people into the church, encourage existing members to do likewise, and re-engaging inactive members.
• Helps people develop their spiritual life and enrich their relationship with God.
• Build a sense of fellowship among the church and community.
• Is willing to work with the leadership and congregation in reaching out to the community.
• Is devoted to the reverent worship of God.
• Works closely with the deacons.
• Have a strong commitment to the educational ministry of the church.
• Attend church functions.
• Is willing to preach Sunday morning worship and Sunday night or Wednesday night worship or bible study
• Possess a pleasant personality and sense of humor.
• Officiate weddings and funerals
The Compensation
We are a small church with 40-50 members. We average 30 in attendance.
We are looking for a part-time or bi-vocational pastor.
*Salary: $35,000
*Vacation: 2 weeks paid
*Parsonage (if needed)
*Other reimbursable items (books, travel expenses) as approved by the deacons
