Grace Bible Church (gracebiblecda.com) is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor / Lead Elder. Founded in 1975, Grace Bible Church is a non-denominational Bible church in the beautiful community of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The area is growing rapidly, and GBC has experienced slow but steady growth over the past few years. Sunday morning attendance currently averages 250-300, and the church is raising funds to build.

The Church
GBC is a vibrant fellowship with the following characteristics:
o   Strong family ministry with mostly intact families and lots of children
o   All generations are well-represented in the congregation
o   Expositional Bible teaching has resulted in good biblical literacy in congregation
o   Systematic Bible reading on the part of many has also added to biblical literacy
o   Excellent music ministry under Music Director (choirs, instrumentalists, vocalists)
o   Joyful traditional worship (song leader, pianos, organ, and strings)
o   Intentional fellowship between individuals and families
o   Counseling support to the congregation and the larger community

Pastoral Job Overview
The Senior Pastor / Lead Elder provides overall leadership in the church. Full Time with Benefits (Medical / Retirement / Resource Allowance / Housing Allowance – No parsonage)
o   Education: Minimum Bible School or Bible College graduate or equivalent ministry experience
§  Prefer at least 5 years’ experience as Associate Pastor or Senior Pastor
§  Prefer experience in churches of 200+
§  Prefer training in biblical counseling
o   Expositional Bible teacher and preacher
o   Provable track record of servant leadership
o   Strong marriage and family life 
o   Blameless in sexual purity, financial responsibility, and anger management
o   Self-motivated and disciplined in life and ministry

Senior Pastor / Lead Elder Role
o   Provide direction to other staff members
o   Oversee various ministries of the church (may delegate to staff or volunteers)
§  Small Groups
§  Christian Education (Children and Adult)
§  Men’s & Women’s Ministries
§  Missions Outreach (career missionaries and short-term teams)
§  Biblical Counseling
§  Congregational Ministry Meetings
o   Provide most of Sunday morning teaching and preaching ministry
o   Serve as one of the Elder team 
o   Disciple the congregation to do the work of ministry
o   Oversee pastoral care to families and individuals of congregation
o   Attend local Pastors’ group (peer accountability)
o   Grow to know and love the congregation
o   Seek to encourage strengths and resolve weaknesses in the congregation 
Coeur d’Alene is a beautiful place to live
  The city of Coeur d’Alene is located in the North Idaho Panhandle, near Spokane, Washington and about 100 miles from the Canadian border. The city also sits near the base of the Rocky Mountains of Montana. The area is growing rapidly, with the accompanying benefits of a larger town. Coeur d’Alene has a population of about 50,000, but, with several adjacent cities and towns, the area population is about 100,000.
            Although the Pacific Northwest in general is low in church attendance, Coeur d’Alene and Kootenai County have a good number of thriving evangelical churches.
            Coeur d’Alene is primarily a resort town at the north end of Coeur d’Alene Lake, and offers hunting, fishing, boating, and other outdoor activities. There are more lakes, public forest land, and tall mountains nearby.
            Residents here experience all four seasons, but all of them mild. Winters can have lots of snow but are not harsh; summers are dry and mild.
