THE BIG PICTURE
Emmanuel Church (ecabilene.org/home) is seeking a full-time Lead Pastor to lead and shepherd the spiritual family of Emmanuel Church. To encourage and equip disciples in their spiritual walk and gifts. To oversee the leadership and overall spiritual direction of the church
RESPONSIBLE TO:
Responsible to the Church Board. The position will be evaluated once a year.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
1 Responsible for the oversight and evaluation of the Staff. This includes regular Staff meetings held every other week throughout the year or when specially called.
2 Meet with the Equipping Staff weekly to collaborate on service planning, ministry goals, vision, and other topics that the Lead Pastor brings for discussion and action.
3 Responsible for staff development/training and discerning future staffing needs.
4 Oversee vision and mission of church in new and existing ministries.
5 Equip leaders for various streams of ministry within the life of Emmanuel Church releasing them to lead their respective ministry teams.
6 Equip families and leaders in how to mature in the Christian faith, use their spiritual gifts, and reach people with the message of Jesus.
7 Maintain preaching schedule and plan sermon/teaching series in collaboration with the Equipping Staff. Responsible, in connection Associate Worship Pastor, for the overall direction and execution of Sunday morning worship services.
8 Oversee the communication efforts of the church, in connection with Staff, including the mission and values of Emmanuel Church as well as general ministry opportunities, policy changes, new/existing ministry changes, etc,
9 Assist in the overall direction and mission of Emmanuel Church.
10 Will provide leadership and ministry streams development in order to meet the needs of both the churched and unchurched.
11 Provide counseling as needed for church members or those in need.
12 Tend to the Pastoral Care needs of the congregation either personally or by delegation through Equipping Staff members and Congregational Care Team members.
13 Organize and teach regular Emmanuel Partners classes to encourage joining as Emmanuel Partners.
