About us
First Presbyterian Church in Boise, Idaho, located in the vibrant downtown area, is hiring a full-time staff member to lead ministries that will share God’s love with families, children, and the city’s youth. We are open to either an ordained or non-ordained individual. We are a progressive church, known for being inclusive and for caring about those at society’s margins such as the unhoused and the food-insecure. We are also known for having great worship, a friendly congregation, and people who want to grow as disciples of Christ.
Job Description
We have a small but committed group of youth, and a major part of the job is caring for their spiritual growth and providing opportunities for service and mission as well as fun activities. Boise High School is located next door, and a person with a passion for youth will have many opportunities to reach out and build relationships and community connections. We have committed volunteers, and you would nurture and train them.
We have small Sunday School and Children’s Chapel programs, and we would like to see these grow and be well-supported by a team of volunteers that you would oversee.
We have an intergenerational “Sunday-Funday” time on Sunday after church twice a month, and we would like to strengthen our opportunities for intergenerational connections.
Returning from COVID, with the changes in approach to ministry that resulted, you would have a pretty blank slate to build programs from, without the “we have always done things this way” baggage.
In addition, you would participate in church leadership by serving on committees, participating in leading worship, and planning for the future.
