General Job Description:
The Lahash Media Specialist will work with the Media Team and other staff members to create spiritually rich, compelling, memorable and culturally appropriate media to help disciple, inspire and activate people from around the world to take a step to participating with Lahash and our ministry partners. This position utilizes passionate storytelling and skillful design to create content that elevates the voices of our African partners and the kids they serve, raises awareness about the issues they face, and celebrates the ways God is at work through their local ministries. This position involves clearly and beautifully communicating the mission and vision of Lahash through video, print, and online media that supports our core programs, deepens connections, and inspires meaningful responses.

Essential Functions:

Personal Fundraising - 25%
- Establish and maintain a personal team of financial donors and prayer partners to support your ministry work
- Write physical letter updates quarterly to your team, and thank you notes to those who support you.
- Hold at least two personal presentations to your community annually (church, small group, other communities, etc.).
- Reach 100% support and maintain that during employment.

Content Creation - 70%
- Shoot and edit professional quality video projects
- Design graphics and layouts for print and digital resources
- Manage media timelines to get projects into production and completed in accordance with Lahash’s ministry needs and plans
- Participate in brainstorming and planning of media projects and advocacy tools
- Shoot professional quality photos
- Maintain graphics, photo, video, and resource library
- Keep up to date with trends in media, advocacy, video and graphic design
- Help with online advocacy (websites, social media, e-newsletters, etc.)

Community Participation - 5%
- Attend the monthly evening meal with the Portland community (held on Mondays)
- Travel to East Africa once a year
- Attend the Lahash East Africa Conference every two years — and assist with planning the event
- Participate and assist with planning the annual U.S. staff retreat
- Attend the monthly solitude days and various other spiritual and educational growth events for the Lahash team
- Read six books a year for spiritual development

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- College degree and experience in design and media creation
- Proficient in Canva
- Proficient in the use of design and digital communication software
- Experienced Videographer and Photographer
- Passionate about the mission and vision of Lahash International
- Ability to multi-task, flexibility, and resourcefulness
- Proactive in starting, maintaining, and completing tasks
- Prompt and efficient job performance
- Team player
- Detail oriented
- Proficient with Adobe, Google, and Microsoft software
