PURPOSE
The main purpose of the Emmanuel Bible Church Administrator is to provide leadership to the administrative and operational aspects of the church in support of church leaders, pastors, volunteers, and ministries … so that Christ may be seen by all.
The primary areas of responsibility include:
• Lead and oversee office, administrative, and communications functions.
• Manage facility operations, including facility use by partner entities and guests, custodial functions (in collaboration with contracted custodial providers), and facility maintenance (in collaboration with the Board of Trustees).
• Oversee implementation of technological tools for continually improving communication and coordination (e.g. website, databases, calendars etc.)
• Facilitate the continual review, maintenance, improvement, and implementation of church constitution, policies, procedures, and systems.
This employee is considered part of the ministry team of Emmanuel Bible Church. Their work must be motivated by a growing sense of Jesus’ love in them, extending out to those to whom they are ministering. They must be a person who loves people, who loves administrative and leadership work, and who will love supporting the pastor and director staff in shepherding and caring for the congregation. The person must work well and closely with the Ministry Oversight and Administrative Pastor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Pray (5%)
• Pray constantly, recognizing complete dependence on Jesus, the head of Emmanuel Bible Church.
• Pray for Emmanuel Bible Church attendees and leaders.
• Pray for wisdom and direction in the leadership and ministry of Emmanuel Bible Church.
• Dedicate a day or more to prayer at least once a quarter.
Lead (20%)
• Make a place where all church staff and volunteers can succeed and thrive, providing love and encouragement to all.
• Model and encourage a workplace and church environment that reflects our church’s values, encouraging love and reducing conflict.
• Oversee and provide direct management of two office ministry assistants, assigning and dividing work between those two positions and the administrator position to make the best possible use of each individual’s skills and passions.
• Participate in staff and Church Board meetings.
• Provide leadership and oversight to the administrative and operational aspects of the church ministry, including ensuring appropriate support to pastors and directors.
• Provide leadership to volunteer coordination efforts, mobilizing gifted members of the body in support of office functions and office-led ministries.
The Administrator may perform the following “manage” duties either directly or by delegation to other staff or volunteers. The Administrator has overall responsibility for making sure these things operate successfully.
Manage the Facility (25%)
• Develop, implement, and constantly improve policies and practices relating to the use of the church facility by church groups, organizations who contract for church space at given times, and other entities.
• Make sound decisions in dealing with church facility emergencies and daily use issues that require immediate attention (e.g. plumbing, heating, lighting).
• Manage a churchwide facility calendar, communicating effectively with church users, custodial contractors, staff, and volunteers.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for church attendees, ministry leaders, volunteers, staff, and representatives of other organizations in regard to the use of church facilities.
• Work closely and communicate regularly with the custodial contractor to ensure smooth operations for all parties, including ensuring that only reasonable expectations are placed on those providing custodial services.
Manage Technology (20%)
• Develop, implement, and constantly improve technology solutions for church operations: e.g. facilities scheduling, calendaring.
• Develop, implement, and constantly improve technology solutions for communications practices both internally and externally. This includes the church’s website and email systems, and may be expanded beyond these things.
• Ensure successful functioning of office systems, including, but not limited to, computer systems, copier, phones, printers.
Manage Office Operations (15%)
• Ensure that the church constitution, policies, and other documents are kept current and easily accessible to all.
• Ensure that all financial matters are handled in a timely and excellent fashion, in collaboration with the church treasurer and others. These activities include, but are not limited to, expense vouchers, office purchases, payroll (input, liaison with payroll company). Develop office budget for annual church budget preparation.
• Ensure that all human resources matters are handled in a timely and excellent manner. These activities include, but are not limited to, insurance processes, new employee paperwork, paid time off requests.
• Maintain and improve systems for file management, organization, and storage for the church’s essential documents and records.
Manage Communications (10%)
• Coordinate production of church documents, including reports and newsletters. Provide writing and editing skills for this work.
• Develop, implement, and constantly improve communications practices both internally and externally. This includes the church’s website, email systems, and bulletin boards, and may be expanded beyond these things.
Care (5%)
• Join with pastors and other staff in caring deeply for the congregation and others, in keeping with the church’s vision, mission, and values.
o Communicate with and encourage congregation members.
o Meet with newcomers.
o Encourage hospitality on Sunday mornings and at other times.
o Communicate with pastors when needs or opportunities for ministry are perceived.

ACCOUNTABILITY
The Administrator is responsible to the Ministry Oversight and Administrative Pastor.
ANTICIPATED TIME COMMITMENT
This is a full-time position with an expected work week of 40 hours. This person will be expected to work on some Sundays, on a schedule to be worked out with the two other office ministry positions. Work hours may sometimes be irregular, due to special events. Days off will generally be Saturdays and another day to be determined on a weekly basis.
ESSENTIAL QUALITIES
The person in this position must have education or experience in management and leadership, experience in administration and office and facility operations, and a proven ability to work collaboratively with individuals and groups who may have different opinions and different priorities.
The person must also consistently and continually meet the biblical qualifications for a deacon (1 Timothy 3:8-12), have a growing and healthy relationship with the Lord Jesus, wholly support the church’s vision, mission, and values, and be in agreement with Emmanuel Bible Church’s Absolutes of Scripture, Statement on Marriage, and Statement on Gender Identity, Sexual Orientation, and Gender Roles.

Salary and Compensation Range
Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000
Compensation Range (including health benefits, retirement, ministry expenses): $67,013 - $97,028
