Waynoka Methodist Church (Waynoka, OK) – Pastor
The Big Picture
Waynoka Methodist Church (facebook.com/WaynokaMethodistChurch) is seeking a full-time Pastor.
The Overview
Located in the rolling sandhills of Northwestern Oklahoma the Waynoka Methodist Church is seeking a dedicated, full-time pastor to lead and shepherd our flock. We recently disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church and are looking to continue following traditional Wesleyan Theology according to the Holy Scriptures. We are praying for someone who preaches the inerrant Word of God. Our congregation is small, but great in faith. With your help, we desire to grow in numbers and faith, deepening our relationship with Jesus Christ while spreading His message throughout our community and world. Your general pastoral duties, aside from Sunday Worship service at 11:00 a.m., will require you to spend time ministering to the congregations of this community as well as involvement with the local ministerial alliance. We desire spiritual guidance, biblical growth, deepened relationships and pastoral care from a candidate that lives out a life of faith and a calling according to the will of the God of the Bible.
The Responsibilities:
• Prepare and deliver weekly sermons using God’s Word as the basis of all sermons.
• Hold special services as required such as a Christmas Eve Service, and other special community services through the Ministerial Alliance
• Prepare and deliver bible studies
• Establish and strengthen youth and adult education through Sunday School, Small Group and youth programs
• Maintain a strong professional image reflective to the Statement of Faith while at church and in the community
• Keep the Congregation informed of church issues
• Conduct personal and premarital counseling services
• Perform funerals and weddings of church members
• Visit the sick members in hospitals, nursing homes and at home
• Administer the Holy Sacraments to the church such as Baptism and Communion services
• Serve Communion to the shut-ins (Members who are homebound)
• Implement programs and events in alignment with the Holy Scriptures
• Oversee the ministries of the church
• Supervise the Children’s Director and Worship Director
• Greet the people as they come into the church and as they exit the church
• Send worship service information to the person preparing the bulletins weekly
The Qualifications:
• Pastoral experience is preferred
• Seminary Degree is preferred
• A heart to serve and lead people to Christ
The Community
The community, surrounded by ranches and farms, is located two hours from Oklahoma City, OK, and Wichita, KS. We are also a short 45 minutes from Woodward, OK, and an hour from Enid, OK. Waynoka is home to the Little Sahara State Park, has a wonderful public school system, and population of just under 1000 people. The parsonage in Waynoka is a lovely 3-bedroom, two bath brick home with a two-car garage, detached shop and a fenced backyard all just a few blocks from the church.
The Compensation
$50,000 - 70,000 plus the parsonage
The Process
Please look over this job description and the church Facebook Page. Along with your resume please answer these questions:
Why do you believe that you might be a good fit as the Pastor at Waynoka?
Describe your experiences in ministry and how you may be qualified to serve as the Pastor of Waynoka?
In just a few sentences please give a summary of your theology and how that is in line with the doctrine of Waynoka?
Please send your resume, the answers to these questions and a link to at least one online sermon to Jason@No-FeePastorSearch.com
