Worship & Creative Director (20hr/Week)

Job Description: The Worship and Creative Director provides leadership & creative direction for corporate worship gatherings, liturgical seasons, and the worship rhythms of Greater Portland Bible Church. This person will work alongside the Communications Director and Media Director to ensure creative continuity church-wide. This role will support the vision and direction of all worship gatherings as established by the Lead Pastor.

Supervisor: Lead Pastor
Oversees: Ministry Volunteers

Primary Responsibilities:
• Direct Sunday worship gatherings and other corporate worship gatherings
• Write liturgy and plan creative direction and themes for liturgical seasons
• Lead and disciple the Worship Ministry Team
• Meet with ministry-specific key leaders & volunteers
• Schedule bands, tech teams, etc. for Sunday Worship (staff volunteers as needed)
• Create and prepare production elements for Sunday Worship (sound, tech, stage, etc.) and for other events scheduled in the auditorium (weddings, funerals, special meetings, etc.).
• Attend church Staff meetings & events (as schedule allows).

• Pre-service prayer time

Monthly Responsibilities:
• Key leader & volunteer meetings
• Pastoral meetings with Lead Pastor to focus on spiritual and professional growth


Minimum Qualifications:
• 3-5 years’ experience leading in a worship and/or creative ministry setting
• A degree in a related field is preferred but not required
• Relevant religious training and spiritual maturity for this position will be assessed and confirmed by the Lead Pastor and Elder Team during the interview process.
o Knowledge of scripture and a theological understanding that aligns with the church’s beliefs will be key.
• Strong Organizational and Communication Skills
• A foundational understanding of Planning Center, OBS, and audio equipment.
