POSITION: Youth Ministry Intern

CCIC BACKGROUND: Chinese Church in Christ (CCIC), San Jose is a local church that seeks to
reach out to the unchurched in Silicon Valley, build them up to Christ-like maturity, and equip them
to serve the church and the world. The church consists of three adult congregations that conduct
services in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin. The church averages about 700 in attendance,
including youth and children. The youth group is made up of students from all three adult
congregations and numbers roughly 70 in size.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Youth Director in all aspects of Youth Ministry.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Help organize and lead youth fellowship, including leading Bible studies and organizing
special events.
2. Help teach youth Sunday School.
3. Counsel and disciple youth.
4. Help engage with youth’s parents through workshops and events.

ACCOUNTABILITY:
Report to the Elder Board.

QUALIFICATIONS/ABILITIES NEEDED:
1. Currently enrolled in seminary and/or a future desire to serve in full-time ministry
2. A heart for Asian American youth and a desire to build relationships with young people.
3. Experience in working with youth and their parents.
4. Team player; able to work in a diverse cultural environment and with staff members from the
English, Mandarin, and Cantonese congregations.
5. Agree with CCIC values, structure and doctrinal position.

PART-TIME POSITION: 10 hrs. per week
