Our new Pastor:
Leadership:
Our new pastor must be: Primarily, a teacher of God’s word who has a passion for encouraging and guiding his flock into a closer and growing relationship with the Lord. He must be dedicated to personally growing in grace, mercy, and knowledge of the Lord.
He understands his own need to humble himself as he encourages people to go along with him as he walks with the Lord, by communicating his own struggles and growth as a servant leader.
He exercises authority and leadership as one who mentors, counsels, and reconciles those who walk alongside him in his spiritual journey.
He must be a hospitable and caring shepherd concerned with all the congregation.
Ministry Style:
Our new pastor must have a passion for reaching and teaching not only the lost, but new and older believers. His preaching style, either topical or methodically teaching through the Scriptures, must be motivated by a desire for those who hear him to understand the relevance of Scripture to daily living and to our current world situation.
Preparation and giftedness:
Our new pastor must know the Scripture well, whether through Seminary training or Bible College training and through ongoing personal study. His doctrinal beliefs must be rooted in Scripture and should be ‘his own’ and not just a parroted or copied set of guidelines. He must know himself and be able to relate the convictions of his heart to people of all ages and training. Our preference is that he be ordained by a like-minded church or association.
Church Ministry:
Our new pastor must lead a church that teaches truth to believers and unbelievers. A church that exhibits hospitality, evangelism, and encouragement to all people in our community, in our country and our world. A church that supports and sustains those who go into all the world to make disciples.
