Title: Associate Pastor (Full-time)
Reports to: Lead pastor
Purpose: (1) To provide the leadership and oversight to the Small Groups Ministry. (2) To provide leadership and oversight to the Outreach Ministry.
Responsibilities (Small Group Ministry):
- Lead a team in the development and growth of a strong small group ministry fostering community involvement and spiritual growth.
- Develop and maintain an annual plan that ensures continuous improvement and growth of small group involvement.
- Implement regular team leader and small group participant recruitment methods and processes ensuring a healthy small groups growth rate over time.
- Plan and execute regular small group connection events as a means of bridging the gap between attraction environments and deepening environments (small groups).
- Function as overall leader of all small groups, coaching small group leaders in successful completion of their day-to-day duties and responsibilities.
-Mentor small group leaders and providing biblically sound guidance.
-Foster a strong, active, growth and recruiting focused network of small group leaders, group members, and individuals interested in becoming part of the church’s small groups ministry.
-Plan and execute regular small group leader training and recognition events, ensuring the existence of a healthy body of small group leaders upon which to grow a strong small groups ministry.
Responsibilities (Outreach Ministry):
-Oversee and direct the Reach team, the welcome team (parking, greeting, ushers), and the prayer ministry.
-Encourage and provide opportunities for our church family to participate in hands-on mission’s efforts both domestically and internationally.
-Oversee policies, budget, missions ministry goals and objectives.
-Recruit, equip and mobilize volunteers for outreach.
-Lead, plan and implement local outreach events.
-Plan, organize and equip teams to support global partnerships through mission trips.
Responsibilities (Secondary):
-Work as a team player with the rest of the ministerial and support staff. This includes making every effort to attend all staff functions (i.e. staff meetings, retreats, planning sessions, etc.).
-Participate and provide support and leadership (when necessary) in church-wide events, even if they do not directly affect the Children’s or Reach Ministry.
-Share in the responsibility of ministerial responsibilities, including, but not limited to:
a. Hospital visits
b. Minister on call duties
c. Leadership at certain events
d. Team preaching
Qualifications:
-Must be a mature Christian, having a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and modeling Christ-likeness for others.
-This position requires a minimum of 3 years experience as a staff member in a ministry leadership capacity.
-Possession of at least a Bachelor’s Degree in biblical studies or related field is required.
-The successful individual will be a strong leader with a solid work ethic and ability to administer as a department head.
-Must be humble, teachable, and open to direction and constructive criticism.
-Must have basic computer literacy and clerical skills: grammar and editing, word processing, spreadsheets/budgets, office equipment.
-A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google docs, database and social networking web applications is preferred.
-Must be (or become) a Pathway member who is committed to the church and engaged in the life of the congregation.
-Must agree with the Pathway Bylaws and the Baptist Faith and Message.
