Part-time Youth Pastor
Dolores Park Church is a diverse, inter-generational, congregation of Bible-believing followers of Jesus Christ that seeks to build authentic community and lives transformed through the love of Christ.
We are currently seeing a part-time youth pastor who will teach, guide, and encourage Middle and High School students in their journey and relationship with Jesus. This is also an opportunity to work with our senior pastor to shepherd our small youth group and develop a vision for how we can grow our student ministry to serve students navigating the daily challenges of city life in San Francisco.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Be present, care for, and oversee the Youth and their families within our church primarily on Sundays.
• Disciple youth in a way that is consistent with our ministry vision and values.
• Coordinate and work with volunteers and ministry leaders who serve student ministries on a rotational basis.
• Prepare and provide dynamic and biblically grounded teaching, including praise and worship in coordination with our church worship leaders.
• Create opportunities for spiritual growth for multiple stages of spiritual development; from evangelism to basics of faith, discipleship to missional living.
• Collaborate with other staff and leadership as well as work with other Youth leaders in SF and the Pacific Southwest Conference.
• Minister to students who live in a global city, with a great deal of cultural and socioeconomic diversity within the group.
QUALIFICATIONS
• A love for God and His Church, a love for Youth, and a pastoral heart to see them grow in their relationship with Jesus.
• A tested and matured relationship with Jesus Christ with a minimum of 3 years of previous student ministry experience.
• Alignment and agreement with DPC's theology and statement of faith including the DPC church handbook and the Evangelical Covenant Church.
• Character and lifestyle of a church leader as described in 1Timothy 3, Titus 1, and 1 Peter 5.
• Love for ministry in an urban context and for San Francisco.
• Fluent in English
• Reside in the SF Bay Area and able to commute to the church.
• Must be eligible to work in the US.
Hours: 10-15 hours per week
Rate: $40/hour
(This position requires a background check and fingerprinting)
To Apply
If interested, please email a brief letter of introduction (with any relevant video links of you leading worship) along with your resume and any questions you may have to dpc.job.post@gmail.com. We will respond within a few days—please be patient as this effort is conducted by volunteers. Please don't contact the church directly regarding this position—the church office is not involved.
