Position Description
POSITION TITLE:
Administrative Pastor
REPORTS TO:
Senior Pastor
POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a full-time, paid-salary position. The Administrative Pastor’s primary responsibility is to provide oversight and leadership at all our gatherings. He will also provide counseling, visit members, and officiate weddings and memorials as requested. The Administrative Pastor will also provide pastoral oversight of the Children’s and Men’s Ministries.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Love for Jesus and His church
A mature and working knowledge of the Bible
Consistently meet the qualifications of an elder as described in the scriptures
Agreement with the statement of faith, theology, and philosophy of CCSE
Eagerness to serve with humility, generosity, and kindness
Ability to communicate the Gospel
Capacity to work in a highly collaborative environment
Demonstrated organizational abilities
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Proficient in church software such as Planning Center and ProPresenter
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Docs
Read the Employee Manual and sign the acknowledgment
EXPECTATIONS
The Administrative Pastor should demonstrate organizational skills and an ability to relate well with a diversity of persons (i.e. pastoral staff, office colleagues, church/ministry leaders, members, and visitors.) The Administrative Pastor should demonstrate a willingness to grow spiritually, attitudinally, and vocationally, exhibit a personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord, actively participate in the church, continually seek to grow in the manifestation of the fruits of the Spirit, display a willingness to develop a comprehensive understanding of the church he serves and receive additional training, should that be deemed necessary. He should always be prepared to teach those entrusted to his care. Since the position is responsible for providing pastoral care to the congregation, the Administrative Pastor must regularly attend all church services (e.g., Sunday Morning, Wednesday Night), and all special events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of the Administrative Pastor are as follows:
General Responsibilities
Pastoral:
Preaching and Teaching as requested
Provide pastoral counsel as requested
General Pastoral care to include visitation and discipleship
Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor
Administrative
Leadership of Men’s Ministry
Building a Men’s Ministry Team
Regularly scheduled meetings with the team
Providing vision and direction for events and programs
Supervision of day-to-day operations of the church
Supervision and discipleship of the Children’s Ministry Director(s)
Regularly scheduled individual meetings
Ensure ministry events and goals are consistent with CCSE's vision
Supervision of Usher Ministry
Ensure Usher Ministry leader is aware of church needs
Regularly scheduled meetings with the Usher Ministry leader
Supervision of Watchman Ministry
Regularly scheduled meetings with the Watchmen Ministry leader
Ensure Watchmen Ministry leader is aware of church needs
Supervision/Delegation of weekly setup for all services and events
Supervision of the Tech Director
Regularly scheduled meetings with the Tech Director
Church Services
Work alongside the Senior Pastor and Associate Pastor in the planning of all church services and events
Coordination with all teams
Special Services/Events
Work alongside the Senior Pastor and Associate Pastor in the vision and implementation of all special services (Easter, Christmas Eve, Church in the Park, etc.)
Supervision of Pastoral Secretary and Events Administrator
Building Maintenance and Design
Pastoral oversight of Facilities Manager and Janitor and oversee all elements of the CCSE Building
Work alongside Bookkeeper and ministry leaders to create fresh ideas for ministry spaces
