| Statement Of Faith: | UCC STATEMENT OF BELIEFS ABOUT GOD God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. UCC is a Word and gospel-centered, multiethnic church community located in the Los Angeles community of Ladera Heights. We passionately worship and serve the Triune God with heart, soul, mind, and strength. We aim to radiate Christian love to those within our community, as well as to passionately and intentionally present the message of the cross to our community and broader city. We seek an Associate Pastor who can share in the work of shepherding, equipping, teaching, and leading the flock at UCC.

Position: FT Associate Pastor
Location: Los Angeles, CA: (Ladera Heights, Culver City, Westchester; Neighborhoods)
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Mission: Make disciples who love God, love people, and love our city.
The Salary is negotiable, dependent on experience and qualifications
Position Summary:
The Associate Pastor is responsible for supporting the Senior Pastor in the leadership, spiritual direction, and ministry of the church. The Associate Pastor will assist with preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and leadership development while serving the congregation and community.
Key Responsibilities
1. Preaching & Teaching
o Assist in preaching and leading worship services as directed by the Senior Pastor.
o Teach Bible studies, Sunday school classes, or small groups.
o Preach or lead services in the absence of the Senior Pastor.
o Prepare and deliver sermons in alignment with church doctrine and vision.
2. Pastoral Care
o Provide pastoral counseling and support to church members and their families.
o Visit congregants in hospitals, homes, and care facilities.
o Officiate weddings, baptisms, and funerals as needed.
o Provide care and support during times of crisis or significant life events.
3. Ministry Leadership
o Assist in overseeing and leading specific ministries or programs (e.g., Men’s ministry, worship, adult ministries, outreach, etc.).
o Collaborate with the church leadership team to ensure ministry goals are aligned with the vision of the church.
o Train, mentor, and support volunteers and leaders in various ministries.
4. Administrative Responsibilities
o Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of church events and activities.
o Help develop and implement church policies and procedures.
o Assist with budget planning and management for assigned ministries.
5. Outreach & Evangelism
o Participate in outreach programs to engage and grow the church community.
o Encourage church members to participate in mission trips, community service, and local evangelism.
6. Team Collaboration
o Work closely with the Senior Pastor, staff, and lay leaders to promote church unity and vision.
o Attend staff meetings, planning sessions, and training events.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Theology, Ministry, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of ministry experience, including preaching and pastoral care.
• Skills:
o Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to preach and teach with clarity and relevance.
o Competence in pastoral counseling and emotional support.
o Organizational and time-management skills.
