Position Title: Youth Director (Middle and High School)
Position Status: Full Time
Responsible to: Next Gen Director
Position Summary: The Youth Director helps fulfill Bethel’s mission to make disciples who love
God, one another, and the world by leading a Christ-centered, relational, and spiritually
vibrant ministry for middle and high school students. In partnership with the Next Gen
Director, parents and volunteers, this role supports students at every stage of their faith
journey and builds teams that reflect the heart of Jesus and Bethel’s values.
Spiritual Qualifications:
● A growing, Christ-centered life that reflects spiritual maturity and alignment with
Bethel’s mission and values.
● Passion for helping students know and follow Jesus.
● Humble, empowering leader who develops teams and equips others for ministry.
● Relates well to students, parents and leaders from a variety of backgrounds
● Strong relational, organizational, and communication skills.
● Committed to servant leadership, healthy team culture, and a strong work ethic.
● Bachelor’s degree required; 2+ years of vocational ministry experience preferred.
● Bethel member or willing to become one within six months.
Responsibilities and Duties
Discipleship & Teaching
● Partner with the Next Gen Director to develop and implement a 0-18 Discipleship
framework
● Create environments for students to encounter Jesus, explore faith, and grow as
disciples.
● Develop and teach biblically rich, engaging lessons aligned with Bethel’s discipleship
framework: Explore → Start → Walk → Guide (Bethel Value: The Journey)
● Models and instills daily habits of faith: engaging Scripture, prayer, worship, and
serving others. (Bethel Value: Sacred Rhythms)
Leadership Development & Team Building
● Recruit, train, and disciple adult leaders and student leaders who invest in youth.
● Cultivate a team culture that is Christ-centered, authentic, grace-filled and faithful
(Bethel Value: Real Relationships)
● Equip leaders to disciple and walk alongside students in all stages of life and faith.
● Build and lead a Youth Ministry teaching team; develop and equip other gifted
teachers and leaders to regularly teach and disciple students. Once established,
teach approximately 2–3 times per month in large group settings.
Program Oversight
● Plan and lead youth gatherings and events that reflect Bethel’s mission, values, and our 0-18
discipleship framework
● Coordinate camps, retreats, outreach events, and mission opportunities that invite
students to live out generous lives and relational depth.
● Collaborate with the Next Gen team to ensure alignment and transitions across
ministries.
Parent Partnership
● In collaboration with the Next Gen Director and the family Discipleship strategy,
provide resources, communication, and encouragement for parents as they disciple
their teens.
● Offer intentional moments for connection and equipping between church and home.
Administrative Leadership
● Steward ministry budget, calendar, communication, and safety processes.
● Ensure all youth leaders follow Bethel’s safety and background check policies.
● Regularly assess ministry impact and adjust strategies to remain mission-aligned and
student-centered.
