Overview & Vision:
This role is a part-time role to assist the Lead Pastor in leading the congregation by directing the operations of Grace Church. This role is flexible and may be adjusted to include the following areas: Operations Management, Missions Pastor, Family Pastor.
Operations Management:
Oversee office operations
Recruit, Train, and Manage office volunteers
Manage church database – Realm
Oversee ordering supplies
Manage the master church and facility calendars
Oversee church financials
Work with the bookkeeper to ensure that financial issues are addressed in a timely manner and that monthly reports are accurate
Recruit, Train, and Manage the offering counting team
Ensure that contribution records are accurate and that year end giving statements are provided in a timely manner
Provide the Lead Pastor and Leadership Team with financial reports, assessment, and recommendations as needed
Missions Director/Pastor:
Recruit, Train, and Manage Missions Assessment Team
Meet at least four times a year to evaluate, assess, and recommend to the Leadership Team regarding beginning or ending financial partnerships
Recruit, Train, and Manage Missions Care Team
Create a team to provide support, care, and prayer for our missions partners.
Lead and manage churchwide missions trip to Mexico (occurs every two years)
Work with the staff and lead pastor to educate, equip, and engage the congregation for missions mobilization
Families Ministries Director/Pastor:
Oversee Nursery, Children’s, and Youth Staff
Assist leaders (paid or volunteer) in recruiting, training, and managing their teams
Work with leaders to integrate FORMUS principles into ministries
Ensure that the policies and procedures of Grace Church are followed
Work with leaders to develop annual measurable goals that help fulfill the mission of Grace Church
Work with leaders to provide a holistic approach to help parents disciple their children through all stages of life
Work with the congregation to begin and expand a college/young adults ministry
General Responsibilities:
Be a partner of Grace or willing to become a partner
Attend weekly staff meeting and work on-site according to approved schedule
Participate in Sharing Life Together cohort as schedule allows
Participate in FORMUS Foundations with the Lead Pastor when schedule allows
Actively engage in personal and corporate discipleship opportunities as schedule allows
Actively engage in the life of the church (ministry, events, gatherings) as schedule allows
Ensure that church policies and procedures are followed as they relate to all areas of responsibility
Assist in the development of an annual budget and manage spending to budget
Perform other duties as assigned
Characteristics
Spiritually mature as demonstrated through Christ-like love
Track record of self-care to maintain a healthy balance between life and ministry
Healthy family relationships that support and sustain one’s role in ministry
Commitment to the vision and values of Grace Church
Intentionally living out the Partnership Covenant of Grace Church
Willingness to be mentored and grow in ministry
Able to work in a team environment by contributing thoughts, ideas, and opinions yet also willing to follow leadership once decisions have been made.
Preferred Experience and Education
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred (a Master’s in Theology if applying as a pastor)
Five years of business and/or ministry experience
Tech savvy and computer literate
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, database management, and Quickbooks
Experience working in a multi-ethnic church environment
