Position Title: Youth Pastor (Full-Time)
Reports To: Senior Pastor

Position Summary:
First Baptist Church Vidalia is prayerfully seeking a full-time Youth Pastor who has a clear calling to gospel-centered student ministry. This individual will serve as the primary shepherd and disciple-maker for students in grades 6–12, while also equipping adult leaders, partnering with parents, and aligning student ministry with the broader mission of the church. The Youth Pastor must demonstrate personal spiritual maturity, theological integrity, and a passion for reaching and discipling the next generation.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Spiritual Leadership & Discipleship
Develop and lead a comprehensive ministry to students (6th–12th grade) that includes regular teaching, small groups, evangelism, and discipleship.
Teach Scripture faithfully in alignment with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, both in large and small settings.
Cultivate a Christ-centered culture where students are encouraged to grow in their relationship with Jesus through Bible study, prayer, service, and fellowship.
Create pathways for student involvement in worship, missions, and the overall life of the church.
2. Ministry Programming & Events
Plan and oversee weekly youth gatherings (e.g., Sunday School, Wednesday nights) and special events (retreats, mission trips, camps, fellowships, etc.).
Encourage student participation in local and global missions, including partnership with Southern Baptist mission organizations.
Ensure that all youth ministry activities are safe, age-appropriate, and spiritually enriching.
3. Parent & Volunteer Engagement
Build strong relationships with parents, providing communication, resources, and support as they disciple their students at home.
Recruit, train, and shepherd adult leaders who assist in student ministry.
Foster a team environment where volunteers are equipped to serve with confidence and joy.
4. Administrative Duties
Manage the youth ministry budget responsibly and in coordination with church leadership.
Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, and church members through regular updates, schedules, and calendars.
Ensure compliance with church safety policies and best practices for working with minors.
5. Church Staff Collaboration
Serve as a vital member of the pastoral team, attending staff meetings and contributing to overall church strategy and care.
Be available to assist in other ministry areas as needed (including preaching, hospital visits, outreach events, etc.).
Support the mission, vision, and values of First Baptist Church Vidalia in all areas of leadership.
Qualifications:
A clear testimony of salvation and a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
A genuine calling to vocational ministry, particularly with youth.
Full agreement with and commitment to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
A heart for evangelism, discipleship, and church involvement.
Bachelor’s degree required
Experience in youth ministry (volunteer or staff) strongly preferred.
Strong teaching ability, organizational skills, and interpersonal maturity.
A desire to partner with families and serve the whole church body as needed.
