LEAD PASTOR
JOB DESCRIPTION
CHARACTER:
• Growing: Lives out a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and demonstrates deep understanding of Scripture, ability to interpret it and maintain doctrinal purity. Relational-able to interact with staff, Grace members, and the general public in a positive, professional manner
• Family Focused: Models a balance between his family life, personal life, and ministry by setting and maintaining boundaries in each of these areas.
• Relational: Creates a sense of belonging and fostering community within the church family and the general public.
• Teachable: Understands his weaknesses, maximizes strengths, a willingness to submit to the leadership of Grace Community Church.
• Confidential: Handles personal and ministry issues and information wisely.
• Models Discipleship Relationships: Timothy to Paul and Paul to Timothy type relationships.
• Accountability: Accountable to leadership or others with discernment. Maintains an intentional, consistent accountability relationship with a man outside his home.
• Work ethic: A reliable self-starter who’s able to manage their own schedule.

COMPETENCIES:
• Leads the Elder and Staff Teams in initiating, developing, implementing and communicating vision to the GCC Body.
• Initiates, develops and leads Christmas, Easter, and Vision Sundays which may include preaching.
• Leads the Elder and Staff Teams in initiating, developing, and implementing the 3 Year Strategic Plan.
• Leads and oversees the staff review process for the GCC team.
• Equips, empowers and holds the staff accountable to fulfill the mandate of Ephesians 4:12 to equip the saints to do the work of the ministry.
• Strong written communication, speaking and listening skills.
• Leads the preaching team and develops, maintains, and provides spiritual direction that guides the sermon schedule. Gathers input from the elder and staff teams for sermon series development.
• Leads weekly team meetings: staff, preaching, administration.
• Leads team meetings: Elder (in conjunction with GCC Elder Chairman), Facility and Comunidad de Gracia.
• Initiates, recruits and leads teams on an as needed basis (e.g. website development, salary benefits, facility impact, growth strategy team).
• Provides oversight for day-to-day operations of the church.
• Provides oversight for church policies and employee handbook.
• Oversees planning, development and approval process for the church budget.
• Provides direction for church finances and interfaces with the Finance Team through the GCC Administrator.
• Pursues professional growth on a regular basis to improve his professional and personal skills.
• Maps out and implements mission and vision throughout the year with elders, staff, and key leaders.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:
• The lead pastor reports directly to the elder team.
• Adheres to Employee Handbook.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA/BS and MA/Master of Divinity or equivalent vocational ministry experience.
• Bilingual English & Spanish appreciated.
• Multi-cultural, multi-congregational awareness.

• Full Time Salaried; TBD per experience and education
