STUDENT MINISTRIES PASTOR
Job Description
Character:
• Growing—lives out a vital relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ
• Family Focused—models and pursues healthy and growing relationships with his spouse and children
• Relational—able to interact with staff, students, parents and the general public in a positive, professional manner
• Teachable—a willingness to admit weaknesses, maximize strengths and submit to the leadership of Grace Community Church
• Confidential—able to handle personal and ministry issues and information wisely
• Accountable—maintain an intentional, consistent accountability/discipleship relationship
• Work ethic—self starter, reliable, conscientious
• Member—must be a member of Grace Community Church

• Must be committed to and supportive of Grace Community Church’s mission and vision
• Must be a team player, able to work in a multi-staff environment
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Willingness to confront issues, work through conflict and pursue forgiveness when necessary
Competencies
Student Ministries:
• Develop vision for the Grace Student Ministries that aligns with the mission and vision of Grace Community Church/Comunidad De Gracia
• Provide godly leadership and administration in developing, implementing, overseeing and evaluating a comprehensive evangelism and discipleship program for Middle School (grades 6-8) and High School (grades 9-12)
• Oversee and develop Student Ministries Leader (once role is filled)
• Live out the value of discipleship by identifying, mentoring and empowering leaders
• Live out the Ephesians 4:12 value of equipping the students and volunteer staff to do the work of the ministry
• Serve as a resource for students and parents in matters of personal and family concern (i.e.—counseling, parenting classes, etc.
• Promote and empower families to live out the biblical value of being the primary discipler of their children
• Intentionally link and connect graduating high school seniors to the next phase of community in the life of the church (ie—small group ministry, etc.)
• Manage (& shepherd others to manage) communication and maintain social media channels for the Student Ministries
• Assume day to day responsibilities of a GCC Ministry Staff Member (staff meetings, administration, preaching, calls, email, etc.)
• Assume additional tasks as assigned by the Interim Lead Pastor
Organizational Leadership:
• The Student Ministries Pastor reports directly to the Interim Lead Pastor
• A six month (for 1st year) and annual review will be administered by the Interim Lead Pastor and a GCC Elder
Education:
• Bachelors level or higher education
• Formal Biblical and theological training required
• Previous vocational ministry experience a must
• Openness to pursuing graduate level ministry training
Salary Range: To be determined depending on experience and education
