Youth director

Job Title:
Director of Youth Ministry
We are looking for a Youth Director who is a fun-loving, people-oriented individual with a
deep personal Christian faith, a heart for youth, and a desire to invest in relationships that communicate Christ’s love.

Purpose:
The purpose of serving as the Director of Youth at OHPC is to glorify God by fostering a lifelong faith in our youth, patterned after the church purpose statement, “To be gathered by the Spirit as a community of faith, to grow into the likeness of Christ and to glorify God every day, in all we do.”

Objectives:
To facilitate regular and meaningful education and fellowship programs for our youth.
To Supervise the planning and implementing of special events and mission projects.
To train teachers and volunteers to assist in the Youth Ministry area.
To be a spiritual Role Model of Christian discipleship for all you work with.

Responsibilities:
Pray regularly for all young people that attend the Youth Group and their families.
Plan and facilitate as the principal teacher/leader a Youth Group yearly schedule for community building and spiritual growth, including bible study, worship experiences, outreach, and service projects.
Plan and publish a calendar for the Youth group events 1-3 months in advance and in alignment with the church calendar and liturgical seasons.
Creatively linking the youth with the Oak Hills Congregation, through shared worship, service, and relationship building. Observing safety protocols including background checks for all adult volunteers.
Maintaining appropriate boundaries to student interactions and adhering to the OHPC policies on sexual misconduct and harassment.

Spiritual Qualities:
A living, authentic faith in the Lord Jesus Christ that is firmly grounded in the Scriptures. A leader who is visionary, highly relational, and is able to shepherd teenagers and volunteers with respect, while teaching faith.

Accountability:
Accountable to the Pastor as Head of Staff, and to the Session through the elder of Christian Education.

This is a part-time position. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Sunday responsibilities are mandatory for morning Sunday School class and evening Youth Group gatherings.
