Overview
- The Worship Pastor serves as a spiritual and creative leader who helps shape Evergreen’s worship culture under the direction and leadership of the Lead Pastors. This role is responsible for creating engaging worship environments where people experience the presence of God and connect with one another. Through music, media, and collaboration, the Worship Pastor cultivates a culture of authenticity, creativity, and commitment to high quality & growth that reflects Evergreen’s mission to help people find and follow Jesus, here, near and far.
Qualifications
- Spiritually mature, prioritizing a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and model a life of worship, humility, and integrity.
- Skilled in leading worship and developing others to do the same.
- Proven ability to recruit, equip, and inspire musicians, vocalists, and technical teams.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Collaborative, flexible, and team-oriented, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Teachable, creative, self-motivated, and passionate about innovation in worship and the arts.
- Competent in worship and production technologies (e.g., Planning Center Online, ProPresenter, digital audio systems).
- Demonstrated ministry experience in creating engaging worship experiences.
- Committed to ongoing personal and professional development in worship leadership, theology, and
creativity.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead Evergreen’s worship ministry with creativity, quality, and spiritual depth, aligning with the overall Evergreen vision.
- Serve as the primary worship leader for weekend gatherings and other ministry environments as needed.
- Foster a healthy, growing community of musicians, singers, and technical volunteers where both spiritual and artistic growth are encouraged.
- Develop systems and rhythms that support effective planning, preparation, and evaluation of worship experiences.
- Identify, recruit, train, and release volunteers and emerging leaders across worship and production areas.
- Pastor, coach, and care for volunteer team members, ensuring they are spiritually supported and equipped for ministry, creating intentional opportunities for connection, discipleship, and skill development.
- Champion a culture of collaboration and quality between worship, production, and creative teams.
- Participate in all creative and production meetings to plan and design meaningful worship experiences.
- Collaborate on special events, and projects that express Evergreen’s heart and story.
- Manage worship and production schedules, ensuring clear communication and alignment across teams.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting for worship and production equipment, maintenance, and resources.
- Evaluate worship environment regularly—assessing engagement, flow, and effectiveness, and make adjustments to improve impact incorporating direction from the Lord and lead pastors.
- Stay current with worship culture, technology, and best practices while remaining grounded in biblical worship principles.
- Collaborate with youth and children’s ministries to train and develop student worship teams as well as support them with equipment maintenance and in purchasing new equipment.
- Support worship for offsite events and special gatherings.
Perform other pastoral duties as assigned by the lead pastors.
Schedule & Expectations
- This position includes regular weekend and evening responsibilities, with flexibility based on ministry needs.
