Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church

701 N Cheyenne Ave, Hardin, MT 59034 USA   MAP
Demographic: Rural, multicultural
Statement Of Faith: Article V: Statement of Faith

A. The Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are recognized as the Word of God and as the ultimate rule of the Christian faith and practice.

B. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed Blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and in glory.

C. We believe in the present ministry of The Holy Spirit convicting men of sin, imparting within us the divine nature, and leading His own in godly living and witnessing, and in the understanding of the Word of God.

D. We believe that all men are sinners by nature and by choice and are in need of repentance and regeneration.

E. We believe in the resurrection of the believers unto everlasting life and blessedness and in the resurrection of all who reject the claims of Jesus Christ into judgment.

F. We recognize two sacraments which are Holy Baptism and the Lord’s Supper which are to be administered and observed according to the Evangelical Lutheran, and Reformed traditions.

G. The doctrinal standards are basically The Heidelberg Catechism, Luther’s Catechism, the Apostle’s Creed, and the Statement of Faith of the CCCC.* (See Appendix I) They are accepted as the authoritative interpretation of the essential truth taught in the Holy Scriptures.

H. Wherever these doctrinal standards differ, ministers and members, in accordance with the liberty of conscience inherent in the Gospel, are allowed to adhere to the interpretation of one of these confessions. However in each case, the final norm is the Word of God.

I. In its relationship with other Christian communions, the Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church shall constantly endeavor to promote the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

E and R Church is searching for a pastor to work closely with the congregation and other community resources to use the wonderful facilities that God has provided to provide meaningful and exciting worship opportunities and a conduit for others to find salvation in Christ.
