Shoreline Community Church is a warm and loving mid-sized non-denominational Bible believing/Bible teaching church located on the beautiful Oregon Coast. Our church is known for its solid Bible teaching, meaningful worship, and evangelical outreach to this beautiful coastal region. It is our desire to reach the people of our community and the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Shoreline Community Church places a high priority on expository Bible teaching that is both practical and applicable to everyday life. The church is led by a plurality of elders who are the spiritual leaders of the church, the deacons serve as the church’s ministers of mercy. Various committees from within the church body help the leadership in the organizational structure of the church as well as carrying out the everyday functions of the church . The elders must be in 100% agreement on decisions to move forward. Our location on the Oregon coast gives us the opportunity to minister to our local county of 64,000 residents, but also gives us the opportunity to minister to the many tourists visiting the region as well as local military personal and their families serving with the United States Coast Guard and the Oregon National Guard.

We are seeking a humble, gifted, and spiritually mature male Associate Pastor to join our pastoral team. The new staff member will work closely with the Lead Pastor in facilitating biblical teaching, pastoral care, provide leadership and ministry support across the church. The Associate Pastor will play a key role in discipleship, shepherding, and helping to equip the saints. This is an excellent opportunity for a pastor who is called to team ministry and wants to invest deeply in the lives of people living in this beautiful coastal community setting. It is also an opportunity for the right man to possibly move up into the Lead Pastor role in the next few of years.

Key Responsibilities Include:
• Provide pastoral care, counseling, and discipleship to individuals and families within our congregation.
• Preach several times a year and teach Bible studies on a regular basis.
• Oversee and develop key ministry areas including small groups, discipleship, men’s and women’s ministry, as well as assimilate new believers into the church family.
• Support the Lead Pastor in the day-to-day operation of the church.
• Participate in hospital visits, weddings, funerals, and other pastoral duties.
• Build volunteer leaders and ministry teams.
• Foster genuine relationships and assist in developing a culture of love and caring for each other.
• Assist in planning and leading the weekend services when called upon.

Qualifications:
• A strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and a clear calling to pastoral ministry.
• A deep love for God and His Word.
• The candidate must be in full agreement with the SCC “Statement of Faith” and “Constitution.”
• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant ministry experience (pastoral leadership).
• Bible College or seminary degree.
• A gifted communicator and teacher of God’s Word.
• A man with a shepherd’s heart with proven relational skills.
• A team player who demonstrates humility in serving alongside others.
• A willingness to live on the Oregon Coast and embrace our culture & lifestyle.
